LESSON 11: Personal Protection and Data Protection

LESSON 9: Sixth day

For today's activity what we did was to look for new applications so that as future teachers we can have different resources when creating different activities for our students.

What we are looking for with this activity is to create playful content for our students about our topic, in this case about the solar system.

To do this, it is important to follow some steps:

 1. think about the aspects in which your students have problems: maybe they are bored, maybe they do not fully understand the lesson, maybe they could have a little more fun with it, etc.

     2. Think about whether it can be solved without technology in a quicker and perhaps more effective way.

      3. If we see that technology can help us and that it does not involve more effort than benefit, use it.

         4. Search/apply an app or platform, taking into account some criteria such as cost, complexity, privacy...

Taking into account our objectives, we do not intend to create content for our students about the solar system. To begin with, and as you can see in the first two images, we use the liveworksheets application. As we believe that our contents should be playful, we decided to create an activity in which the children had to match each image of the planet with the name they thought corresponded to it, in order to learn what they looked like and their characteristics.

In the images above you can see in detail how the activity would look like and how the images on the left and the names of the planets on the right would look like. In addition, we have put the second picture as a reference so you can see how the note would look like after the child finishes the activity.

We wanted to use different applications to teach from practice our solar system, so we looked for the Educaplay application. Educaplay is a very useful tool that can help us in the future as it facilitates the creation of different cards in different shapes and with many different games to create.
The option of creating an alphabet soup was the one we considered a good option for our students to have as homework or as a way to calm down after a class of the syllabus.

Puedes ver que en la parte derecha están las palabras que los alumnos tienen que buscar. Esta actividad está limitada en el tiempo porque mejora su velocidad visual para encontrar lo que se les pide.

I have uploaded a video of the procedure for this activity to make it easier to see.
