LESSON 11: Personal Protection and Data Protection

 The lesson objectives were:

• Know and know how to apply the security measures that guarantee physical and mental integrity in the use of digital technology.

• Know how to protect yourself on the Web.

• Identify the factors to take into account to protect health from working with digital technology.

• Learn cybersecurity by playing.

To ensure security on our devices, we can take control measures, such as:

-access to the device (as opposed to code, facial recognition...)

- data sharing (Bluetooth, location management)

-removal in case of theft or loss and external memory.

The importance of security patches and updates: malware --> malicious program that seeks to obtain personal data and money, antivirus and malware detection tool. Regarding Backups we can use an external drive or through synchronized cloud storage. There are some tips to configure our devices provided by the Information Security Office and the Spanish Data Protection Agency.

To make browsing safer, it is recommended to delete history and cookies, log out, configure and review browser privacy options and not connect to public Wi-Fi networks. When using social networks with privacy it is important to set up profiles that protect personal data and use appropriate passwords or not disclose personal information of others. As for the protection of mobile devices, it is necessary to activate passwords, check the information accessed by apps and that transferred to third parties, among other things. Protect email and messaging services from unwanted access.

We also watched a video on the fundamental aspects to take into account for good health at work:

- Posture: To avoid headaches and minor back injuries that can be aggravated if the posture is prolonged over time.

posture is prolonged over time.

- Furniture and other elements: Adjust the table, the chair and properly arrange the work space.

work space.

- Lighting and noise: Take care of the lighting, avoid reflections on data display screens.

Work in a noise-free space to avoid stress and mental fatigue.

- Attitude: Have a good attitude at work.

For children, and for adults sometimes it is easier to learn cybersecurity by playing, there are platforms that allow us to do so, for example, Cyberscouts, Cryptopolis, Hackers vs. Cybercrook or Cybersecurity Trivia.

So we put ourselves to practice and played a game, Cyberscou, to see in some way what knowledge we had on the subject. This game is very useful because they have the "child mode" and so this type of resources could be implemented in schools to know the importance it has.
